About your Instructor:
Sorys Acevedo is a native New Yorker. As a Self-taught artist, her work is recognized by the abrupt departure from the common. She's a mixed media artist that prefers working with acrylics. She doesn't give much thought to the proper use of old age techniques. Her colorful artwork is full of contrast and rough brush strokes; a direct reflection of the enigmatic and sometimes chaotic mind, of a woman born and raised to follow her dreams, No matter what direction they lead her in. Her work has been exhibited in various galleries in NYC, Boston and MIA. Her work has sold to collectors around the world yet her most valued accomplishment is the satisfaction of bringing laughter, color and kinship to every event she instructs.

What is a Paint & Sip?
Paint and Sips are fun sessions where you can mingle with friends, have a few drinks and enjoy step by step instructions with an enthusiastic, experienced artist. We will help you create a one of a kind painting that is yours to display. We ensure a fun, casual environment. be ready to laugh and to leave your everyday worries behind.
Is there a minimum number of people required to book a private event?
Yes, a minimum of 10 guests (not including the host) is required. of course you are free to have as many or as little guests as you like, so long as the minimum payment is met. for example; you are only inviting 8 people this means that instead of $45.00 each the cost per person is $56.25. The Host of the event is only free when the minimum of 10 guests, is met.
Take into Consideration that these events require an enormous amount of planning on our part. We are essentially setting up an art studio in your home. consider supplies, travel expenses & assistant pay and you will see that even at a higher rate, it is still a bargain.our hope is to provide you with exceptional service from the time you book to the time WE clean up your space after the paint session is over. we take care of EVERYTHING. You will not be disappointed.
How long is the painting Session?
Session time is totally up to you! We have ranged between a solid hour to three hours. The complexity of the selected painting will play a role in dictating how long the session is. This includes time to allow for the ever important sipping.
When is payment collected?
The hostess is our first point of contact. Once you decide on your date (check availability by clicking Event Host Register link)

3. Make deposit
4. Ensure that all payments are made 7 days before the event. This will ensure that your instructor will arrive with and adequate amount of supplies. You can add people to your event as long as you contact your instructor before hand.
5. You have the option of sharing the link for your guests to pay online. make sure they use the GUEST link so that their payment is processed correctly. They must also add their hostess's name on their payment. You can also pay upfront and collect the fees from your guests independently. This is the preferred choice. I've never painted before. I'm nervous.
These events are designed for beginners, yet there is plenty to challenge students of all skill levels. The first step is to trace the image using a stencil, this way we can start painting right away. Then Sorys will cover basic techniques and guide you step-by-step through every aspect of the painting. Sorys prides herself on her hands on teaching approach. She will walk around the class to answer questions and to make sure everyone is on the right track. It's good to remember that with art there are no “right” or “wrong” answers. Also, any "mistake" can be fixed or simply reinterpreted as intentional strokes of genius. Do not even stress it.

How long are paint sessions?
Do your best to have your guests arrive on time. I will arrive at your home 30 minutes before the scheduled start time to set up. This time is not part of the time allotted for the painting. Every session is different but you can expect the average time to be 2.5-3hrs. We will have a mingle session (15-20 minutes) prior to the beginning of the class, this will allow you to settle in. Late arrivals are responsible to catch themselves up.
Can I paint Something different?
We suggest you paint the same thing as everyone else, nonetheless you are encouraged to be as original as you'd like. In an effort to enjoy the camaraderie and to have a cohesive session, instructions will be the same across the board.
Is the paint Toxic? Safe for pregnant women, children?
We use Liquitex acrylics. Please refer to their website for information regarding ingredients.
What Should I wear?
Wear clothes that you are comfortable in, remember that we will be working with acrylics and even though you will be provided with a painting smock there is always the possibility of getting paint on your clothes. I recommend wearing something that you aren't going to mourn in the event it gets a stain.

What's the refund policy?
In the event that you cannot have your party on the agreed on date please contact us ASAP. We will do our best to accomodate your party on a different date based on our availabity. Please note there are no refunds. We will always try our best to accommodate your dates.
